PAULA PELSE

GRAPHIC ARTIST

CONTACT: paula_pelse@inbox.lv

Paula takes us on a journey to spaces (possibly) as much known and unknown, as the skin of our bodies. Here the landscape is a black and white account of our imperfections and mysteries, a window into a far winter forest or an anonymous snapshot of our galaxy. The viewer's eyes given a task: to choose, to zoom in and out, to explore our habitat.

By mixing silk screen with drawing and photography, Paula questions the separation between mankind and nature. How dependent is one from another is still to be measured, while currently, a consistent group of scientists is referring to our time as Anthropocene, a Time when human activities have been proved to have a significant impact on the ecosystem we are also part of.
